A lot of fear, a lot of grief, but they also had hope. More than half of those wounded have now been released. The staff of Annunciation, the families at Annunciation, they are heroes. They saved lives. They jumped on the backs of their closest friends to make sure that they were protected from bullets and they escorted students out of the way to make sure they weren't hit by fire. Meanwhile, CBS News has learned authorities have interviewed the shooter's mother for hours to see if she was aware of any warning signs. Investigators say the writings point to a desire to hurt children, not a specific grievance against the school. Four search warrants have been executed, including at a private home where the shooter had been staying. It was previously believed that that belonged to a friend, but a neighbor tells CBS News the shooter was renting it.

The United States says it will not allow Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to travel to New York next month for a United Nations gathering of world leaders, where several U.S. allies are set to recognise Palestine as a state.
