CBS Mornings has announced the top three finalists in People's World's Cutest Rescue Dog Contest. The finalists, revealed in no particular order, are Apollo, a six-year-old known for his cuddles and playful habits; Tiki, a five-year-old who overcame shyness after being adopted; and Bastion, a seven-year-old rescued from Hurricane Florence who now communicates using buttons. The CBS Mornings team participated in the judging process and has already submitted their confidential vote. The winner of the contest will be revealed on CBS Mornings, with more information about the finalists available on people.com.

Meet the top three finalists in People's cutest rescue dog contest

We welcome you back to CBS Mornings for the Talk at the Table. We've got some very exciting results to share with you today. Last month, you remember this, we revealed the top 10 finalists in People's World's Cutest Rescue Dog Contest. There's the top 10. So the votes have now been counted and first on CBS Mornings, we are proud to share the top three finalists in this adorable contest. So in no particular order, that's important to say, the finalists are six-year-old, there's Apollo. He's cute, his family says he's a loud snorer. But makes up for it with great cuddles. Always love a good cuddle. He enjoys taking naps, going on walks, and stealing socks from the laundry baskets. Very cute. Next, we have five-year-old, Tiki. His family says he came to them slightly shut down, spending most of his time under the bed at first. And they watched him slowly open up and he's been a very rewarding dog because of that transformation, changed their lives. And last, we have seven-year-old, Bastion. He was rescued from- Of Bastion. From the floodwaters of Hurricane Florence. When he came to his family, he was startled easily and avoided eye contact. On his second birthday, his family introduced him to communication buttons. And today, Bastion uses them to request his favorite snacks, ask them to go outside, and even for his friends he hasn't seen in a while. That's cute. I think Bastion's a really sweet looking dog. We have already submitted our confidential vote. I see my pick right there on the screen. We had to pick as a group, but there was not initial agreement. No, no. Came to consensus. No, there was not. They'll show a little bit about us, which dog we picked. Yeah, yeah. That's for sure. It's gonna, you know. Well, I don't know what kind of dog though. It's gonna reveal it later. So people can send me info on their dogs. Yeah, that they like. Because we are wide open in terms of breed. We want like a medium sized dog, not crazy big. You just don't want a dog that sheds.
