A new study from Ace Hardware Home Services indicates that a large proportion of homeowners, particularly millennials, are delaying essential repairs and routine maintenance. The survey found that 87% of respondents admitted to postponing necessary work, with over half also avoiding parts of their homes due to unresolved issues. 

Experts warn that neglecting maintenance can result in higher repair costs and potential safety hazards. While some homeowners attempt do-it-yourself fixes, professionals recommend leaving complex repairs involving electricity, gas, or water to qualified technicians to avoid further damage or danger.

I think maintenance is super duper important because if you don't do it, then it's gonna be a bigger issue down the road. So I like to save myself hundreds of dollars top the line by taking care of the issues right now. With each filter costing just under $9, Jabari says he changes his filters every month trying to avoid a buildup of dirt and dust that can cause higher energy bills and expensive system repairs, which can run you about 150 to $650 depending on the problem. A new study from Ace Hardware Home Services shows majority of all millennial homeowners aren't taking care of their homes like Jabari with 87% of people saying they're delaying repairs and routine maintenance. Another 57% of people also admitting to avoiding using parts of their home because of unresolved maintenance issues. You want to look for somebody who really cares about your house as though it were their mothers or their grandmothers. Andy Bell, the CEO of Ace Handyman Services, says there are basic steps you can take to protect your home and wallet from pricey repairs. First, pay attention to the inside and outside of your home. Do routine walkthroughs to make sure there aren't any visible problems. Next, keep up with maintenance and be proactive by being prepared. We've got to have CO2 detectors in the house, but we also need smoke alarms in every room and in the hallways outside those rooms and fire extinguishers because nothing can be more devastating to a family and a property than a than a fire, even if it's a small fire in the kitchen. And while many people are resorting to do it yourself jobs, Andy says there are specific types of repairs where you should call in professionals. So let's not flood it, let's not blow it up and let's not burn it down. So electric gas and water. I would I would leave that to a professional. Repair jobs, Andy says, will cost you a minimum of $400 and it can go up depending on the problem. Advice. Jabari says he doesn't mind listening to despite all of the tutorials he's watched online. Recently, I had to climb into the ceiling of my business to like, uh, close the dampers for the A. C. Units and I had no idea what that is. I still don't.
