A UPS cargo plane crashed in Louisville, Kentucky, resulting in at least 13 fatalities and leaving nine people unaccounted for. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the incident, including whether prior maintenance issues with the aircraft played a role. 

Among the deceased are three UPS pilots whose identities have been released. Survivors, including local business manager Saavet Aliyev, described being trapped near flames for hours after the crash. The community has held a vigil for the victims as investigators continue their work.

A vigil was held last night to honor all of the victims, and we've now learned the identities of the UPS flight crew. Our Tom Hanson has more. New details are being released surrounding the deadly cargo plane crash Tuesday. Among those killed, three UPS pilots who were operating the flight, Richard Wartenberg, Lee Truitt, and Dana Diamond. Records show the aircraft was grounded for more than six weeks in San Antonio, as service reports noted corrosion and at least one crack in a fuel tank that needed repair. We will look at every piece of maintenance that was done. Our belief is today that there was not a maintenance issue regarding that aircraft prior to the flight. The NTSB will also examine 63 hours worth of information recovered from the plane's flight data recorders. That's where our business, so when we come closer to it, it was so hot. Like I say, I'm not going in there. People here are trying to process what they experienced. I see pictures of hell, but it was a reality in front of my face. Saavet Aliyev was knocked off his feet when the explosions rocked the truck repair shop he manages. We've been trapped behind our business. We cannot run to the street because the fire was all over it. An hour and a half to two hours, but how long did that feel to you in that moment? It was like maybe 10 hours. It felt like 10 hours. Aliyev says he feels lucky to be alive. It's like so much you cannot even process, you know? People died, airplane crashed, pilots died, business is messed up. Yeah, I process, but it does not change anything. I wouldn't skip his name. And you know, we were at that vigil last night. This community is in shock. They are just beginning to grieve, and all the while, Errol, investigators are working to identify more victims. Just heartbreaking. Tom Hanson in Kentucky, thank you.
