The U.S. Coast Guard conducted an extensive search before suspending operations, stating that if the men were alive on the water's surface, they likely would have been found. The families of the missing men continue to await news as the investigation into their disappearance remains ongoing.

It feels like a nightmare, a horror movie. Search and Rescue reported locating their boat 70 miles off the Florida coast after midnight Saturday. The motor was still in gear, but the two men weren't on board. It was still moving at a very slow speed, about four and a half knots. But no one was on board? No one was on board. Coast Guard Captain Corey Sergent. You think if they were still alive, you would have found them by now? Yes, if they were still alive on the surface of the water, we would have found them. Randall Spivey's son is still waiting for a reply to the last text he sent to his father. I texted him good luck and text me, you know, what you guys catch in the morning, the typical I love you's and talk to you soon and all that. And I'm still waiting for the text back. Late today, the Coast Guard told us that they've suspended their search for the two men. The investigation into what happened is still ongoing.
