Here are the most recent acreage and containment numbers for two wildfires burning near the Grand Canyon, the White Sage and Dragon Bravo fires.

The Dragon Bravo fire has expanded to over 35,000 acres and is only 26 percent contained, with dry air and windy conditions making firefighting efforts more difficult. This fire has destroyed dozens of buildings, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. 

Meanwhile, the White Sage fire near Jacob Lake is 83 percent contained after burning nearly 59,000 acres. Federal fire crews have been leading the response, but control is set to return to state fire crews. Efforts continue as authorities work to bring both fires under full control.

We're also keeping an eye on wildfires burning across the state tonight, including the two big ones still burning along the north rim of the Grand Canyon. First, the Dragon Bravo fire has grown to more than 35,000 acres and is only 26 percent contained tonight. Fire crews say dry air and windy conditions are complicating the situation. This fire has destroyed dozens of buildings, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. And the White Sage fire, burning further to the north near Jacob Lake, is now 83 percent contained. That fire burned nearly 59,000 acres before crews got a handle on it. Federal fire crews have been in control of this firefight, but control goes back to state fire crews sometime tonight.
