Kevin Walters has been publicly appointed as the Kangaroos coach for the Ashes series in England, after weeks of rumours.

Kevin Walters has been officially announced as the new coach of the Australian Kangaroos rugby league team for the upcoming Ashes series in England. Walters, expressing his commitment to the national side, has ruled out coaching any NRL club in the next season, indicating his intention to remain in the international arena for an extended period. 

Walters described the opportunity as a 'once-in-a-lifetime' chance and is focused on delivering strong results with the Kangaroos. He has not yet confirmed whether Cameron Smith will join his coaching staff, stating he will first consult with the previous assistants, Justin Holbrook and Brett White.
