Emergency crews responded to calls for help, emphasizing the risks involved in water rescues. Cleanup efforts are now underway, and surveys will assess the extent of beach erosion.

The highest tides of the year with a storm moving up the coast was a recipe for trouble down at the Jersey Shore. We're hopeful that rather be prepared than not be prepared and regret the alternative beach replenishment projects that took weeks of work washed away in a matter of hours. Pretty rough. It's kind of sad they spent all that money and it's all gone. Streets along inlets and back bays in Atlantic City went underwater at high tide. If it's too much salt water, your car is going to be wrecked. Salt water is not good for cars. Several miles up the road, the storm pushed a lot of water into the bays and inlets here in Egg Harbor Township. A lot of water spilled right over this road and several ft of water ended up inside those motel rooms. Yeah, the call for help started with a man who could not get to his dog inside a flooded room. Rescue crews ended up helping princess and five people get to safety. If there's an electrical issue when we get into the water or if there's a loose manhole and we take, you know, someone takes a fall, then we put ourselves at risk. They're trained in the water rescue. They have the equipment. Unfortunately, it worked out because there were other people that needed to be rescued. I want to say a huge thank you and I appreciate them so much and never be brave for what they're doing. Now it's time for the cleanup and the surveys to determine how much of the beach was washed away. That's always tough. I mean, we know what we are. We are on the barrier islands and we know that it's coming to the territories for Accuweather. I'm the Wado.
