The footage also shows soldiers removing Abu Mualla's body, which his family says has not been returned. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 53 Palestinian minors have been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank since increased raids began in January. The Israeli military states these raids target militants and aim to prevent attacks against Israelis.

Palestinian officials say Abu Mualla was 16 years old. The soldiers said he threw a brick at them. Now the Israeli military says it's reviewing the incident after this CCTV footage emerged. Reuters verified the location and date of the video, obtained from the owner of the security camera. The audio and video appear to be out of sync. Three Israeli soldiers take up positions, two of them at the top of the screen. A person walks into view and they shoot him. Reuters has chosen to pause the video before he falls to the ground. He is not seen to hold or throw a brick in the footage as released. It's not possible to ascertain what he was doing before he appeared. Zakarney says he was there when the shooting happened on Saturday night. The soldiers moved this stone here next to him to say that he was throwing stones. This didn't happen. I saw everything. They shot him with four bullets the second they saw him. Asked about the video, an Israeli military spokesperson said, quote, a Palestinian suspected of hurling a block at IDF soldiers was shot. The incident is under review. Footage from about 22 minutes later appears to show Abu Mualla's body being placed by soldiers on a stretcher and driven away. As the family received condolences, his mother Ibtihal said the Israeli military took his body. He said, as a mother of a martyr whose body is being held by the army and in the name of all the mothers, we need the bodies back. I want to bury my son in dignity. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Since Israel began stepping up raids in the northern West Bank in January, 53 Palestinian minors have been killed by Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
