Human rights groups report dozens of deaths as authorities crack down, and communication restrictions have made it difficult to assess the full extent of the situation. 

Support for the protests has grown both within Iran and internationally, with the exiled Crown Prince urging escalation and US President Donald Trump expressing support. Protests have also occurred abroad, including in London and outside the White House, while Iranian state media continues to highlight pro-government counter-protests.

For two weeks now, Iran's streets have looked like this. Masha'Allah! Masha'Allah! Thousands marching, night after night, calling for an end to the Ayatollah's regime. They're gathering momentum, and the protests almost have an air of celebration, even though there's no sign of the Iranian government's relenting. May you do not pull back. But it's not all jubilation. Human rights groups say dozens have been killed as authorities crack down on demonstrations. CROWD SHOUTS This video is reportedly from a medical facility in Tehran. Families asked to identify the bodies of loved ones killed in the chaos. The extent of the oppression is unclear. Internet and phone lines have been cut, and Elon Musk's Starlink is the only way information is getting out. Many have thrown their support behind Iran's exiled Crown Prince, who's encouraged protesters to escalate. Our goal is no longer merely to come into the streets. The goal is readiness to seize city centres and to hold them. US President Donald Trump is continuing to back protesters. Iran is looking at freedom, perhaps like never before. The USA stands ready to help, he wrote, as outside the White House, Iranian diaspora added their voices to the chorus. Down with dictatorship! Down with harmony! Nothing has been able to stop the people of Iran from driving for change in Iran, and they will succeed. Protests are becoming global. In London, one man scaled the Iranian embassy, replacing the flag of the Islamic Republic with a banner bearing the lion and sun, used until the shah was overthrown in 1979. Iran claims to have arrested a foreigner accused of spying for Israel, while state-controlled media has focused on pro-government counter-protests, dissenters labelled as terrorists. Protests show no signs of slowing down, and while there's been no big flashpoint yet, much of the country is a powder keg waiting for a spark. Patrick Murrell, 10 News.
