A historic home located at 31 Perrott Street in Brisbane has been sold at auction for $3.1 million. The property, which has remained largely untouched and was in the same family for around a century, drew a crowd of over one hundred people and 15 registered bidders.

The house is noted for its impressive ceilings, stained glass windows, and unique combination of wood and brick. Its exact construction date is unknown, but evidence of the family's history, including items related to pharmacology, remains in the home. The new owners are expected to undertake significant restoration work while making the most of the property's city views.

A diamond in the rough in need of some tender loving care. It'll come down to a very clever architect or someone with a very special plan to make the most of the views and obviously the beautiful aspect that this home deserves. As the masses marched through, its untouched interiors had everyone intrigued. The ceilings are impressive and the fact that they're still in such really good nick. So obviously they had done something with them. The stained glass windows, the contrast of the wood and the brick is just, you don't see that very often anymore. Jardineers and the crockery that's sitting around the place. It'd just be wonderful to spend some time here to look at the history of it all. It's that very history that still hasn't quite been worked out. It's not known just when 31 Perrott Street was built. It has been in the same family for a century who abruptly left in the 90s. I know that one of the previous owners, one of the generations was a chemist and then her daughter went on to be a pharmacy assistant. So what we see around the homes are pharmacology anthologies and so we have evidence of that being true. As the open house drew to a close, it was time to auction off the grand old dame. It's a home that'll get you well and truly acquainted with the bunning sausage as you come in and do the work that needs to be done to take it forward.
