Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at the 1,000 block of Sierra Vista Drive. Officers found a man inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene. 

Preliminary investigation indicates a verbal argument preceded the shooting, after which a group of three to four individuals fled in an unknown direction. Police have not released suspect descriptions and are reviewing surveillance footage. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact LVMPD Homicide or Crime Stoppers of Nevada.

Good afternoon. My name is Robert Price. I'm the homicide lieutenant for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Today I'm here to brief you on a homicide that took place at the 1,000 block of Sierra Vista Drive. The details of the call are, at approximately 12.20 this afternoon, LVMPD dispatch received several 911 calls reporting that somebody had been shot. Officers from the South Central Area Command immediately responded and upon their arrival they located one individual inside his vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Those officers rendered aid until medical arrived and upon medical arrival that individual was pronounced deceased on scene. Homicide detectives have been notified and we're currently on scene investigating the crime. The preliminary details that we know so far are, it appears that there was a verbal argument outside in the middle of the street. At one point in time an individual produced a firearm and began firing at our victim while he sat in his car. That group of individuals then fled the scene in an unknown direction. This is an isolated incident. There's no threat to the public at this time. We do encourage anybody with any information to please reach out to LVMPD Homicide or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers of Nevada. And with that I'll take any questions you may have. Correct. One victim and a group of individuals didn't flee the scene, correct? Three to four individuals is what we have so far and as far as descriptions we don't have a description yet but we're currently talking to witnesses and reviewing surveillance video. We don't have a car maker model at this time. There were several cars during the incident so we don't know what suspect related. Could you say some more details on this argument? You said it was happening in the middle of the street and the person in the shop was inside their car. Was the argument happening in the street and then they got in the car? Were they in the car? At this point in time that's still part of our investigation. We don't know. The person, the victim, did he live in that complex or was it just happened? That's still part of our investigation. We haven't determined that yet. We noticed that there are these lights on top. Is this just to notify drivers of stopping? There's no additional metro cameras around here. I'm unaware of this. Okay.
