He should follow the diplomatic route when he does things like that. According to a poll published in January 2025, 85% of Greenlanders do not want to belong to the United States, regardless of what the American president thinks. We need Greenland for national security, and if you take a look at Greenland, you look up and down the coast, you have Russian and Chinese ships all over the place. The Greenlandic and Danish governments have called Trump's annexation ambitions unacceptable. Our territorial integrity and our right to self-determination are encoded in international law and cannot be simply ignored. Denmark's foreign ministry has since summoned Greenland's American envoy to Copenhagen, and top EU leaders expressed solidarity with the autonomous Danish territory.
