He's only been on the Gold Coast for one season, but Daniel Rioli feels like he's been here before. Similarities, I guess. I mean, I wasn't sure where we finished on the ladder last year here, but to be able to flick the switch and to be where we are right now, it's a special time. The rebounding half-back has formed a lethal partnership with former Collingwood defender John Noble, one of the major reasons for the side's resurgence under Damian Hardwick. He's a player that I've certainly loved and admired from afar and, you know, to finally play alongside him is really special. The Pies letting Noble head north left a dent in the 2023 Premier's quest for back-to-back flags, but there's still plenty of admiration, particularly for his former captain Darcy Moore. He's very intelligent and he's got a really strong leadership profile. Collingwood losing three of their last four hasn't stopped them from entering this year's September campaign with swagger. Huge belief in what we do. You know, we've, as a group, played in a lot of finals together. We've played in a lot of big games. We know what that football's like and we're ready for it. It could be better for their Crows clash, though, with some key outs looming. It was great having Bobby out on the track. Like you said, he really lit it up. It can confirm no one can tackle him still out of training. You know, we love him. He's one of our own, so his wellbeing is definitely the priority for us at the moment. A giant task for GWS, overcoming a Hawthorne side who can beat anyone on their day, not to mention the scars of having lost to the Lions' last finals campaign after leading by 44 points in the third quarter. Sometimes the biggest failure can be your greatest lesson, so I certainly thought about that game and I've thought lots about what I could have done differently and how I could have been better, but I just want to make sure it doesn't happen this time around.
