In Al-Nusayrat, one of the busiest clinics at Al-Awda Hospital is witnessing a growing number of mothers and infants suffering from malnutrition. Mothers report being unable to provide sufficient breast milk due to their own malnutrition, and formula is scarce or unavailable. 

The crisis is affecting both children and their mothers, with families appealing for assistance to obtain basic nutrition. The ongoing conflict and airstrikes in Gaza are compounding the humanitarian situation, making it increasingly difficult for families to access the food and medical resources they need.

Mothers, babies and children are suffering and trying to find any solution for the malnutrition that not only the babies are witnessing, but also the mothers. I am Iyad Abu Ajwa's mother. He suffers from malnutrition. When he was born, he weighed 1.9 kilograms. He needs milk and we are appealing for help from people who can afford it, because we cannot. We're currently with Ru'a Tafish, a six-month-old baby that is malnourished. And in this case, it's not only Ru'a that is malnourished, it's also her mom. She has not been able to breastfeed her because she's also malnourished. I breastfed her when she was born. It only lasted a week because I couldn't produce enough milk. I need to feed her formula, but it's not available. Mothers across the Gaza Strip are struggling to keep their children alive, not only from the ongoing endless airstrikes, but also from the forced starvation and famine.
