Rare snowfall was reported across parts of the southern United States, including Florida and Georgia, marking the second consecutive year of snow in Florida. Temperatures across the Southeast have remained well below historical averages, with cities like Nashville, Jonesboro, Little Rock, and Oklahoma City experiencing lows in the teens and low twenties Fahrenheit.

High pressure is currently keeping precipitation away, but the cold air is expected to persist into the afternoon hours, with temperatures staying colder than normal for this time of year. Sunshine is forecast for the next day, but rain showers are expected to return by mid- to late week as high pressure moves out.

That's a mouthful across the southeast. My eye takes me to national 16 degrees tonight. Very cold out there. Jonesboro, Arkansas and Little Rock down to 20 Oklahoma City 21. It's remarkable that we got accumulating snow on back to back winners in a little sliver of northwest florida. Yeah, pretty impressive. And for some people, I think they love it for others are like, come on, we moved this far south to avoid the snow, high pressure and control for Tuesday. So we're not dealing with the precipitation, but the cold is locked in not just into the morning, but the afternoon temperatures will stay still a bit below the historical average. It is relative, but we're much colder than the norm for this time of the year, even down into Jacksonville, 58 degrees. That's cool for you. Atlanta, 46 degrees, Nashville, eight degrees below the historical average. Luckily, there's plenty of sunshine to lead us through our Tuesday, Wednesday, still sunny, high pressure starts to move on out and that's gonna allow some areas of rain and showers to return by the middle and end of the week.
