France also called on the European Union to increase pressure on Israel, including lifting the financial blockade and halting settlement projects that threaten the territorial integrity of a future Palestinian state. With this decision, France reaffirms the Palestinian people's right to self-determination faced with the reality on the ground of the humanitarian catastrophe that is plunging an entire people into despair and the existential threat. He also called on the European Union to pressure Israel to agree to a two-state solution. With international consensus on the need for a political solution to the war, he said world powers must back up their words with actions. I do know that the European Commission, on behalf of the European Union, now has to very clearly express what are our expectations of the Israeli government. Firstly, the lifting of the financial blockade, settlement of the two billion euros that the Israeli government owes the Palestinian Authority, the abandonment of colonization projects and in particular the E1 project which, with its 3,400 housing units established in the West Bank, threatens the territorial integrity of the future Palestinian state. Barron said only a political two-state solution will help respond to the legitimate aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace and security.
