When Léon Marchand dives into the pool, all of France watches with bated breath. The 22-year-old French swimmer recently won four gold medals and a bronze medal at the Olympic Games held in Paris, setting a new record for France. Marchand acknowledges the extraordinary nature of his achievement, admitting he has yet to fully grasp its impact. Reflecting on his experience, Marchand mentioned his focus on recovery and preparation, which was critical due to the high number of races he participated in—14 in total. He described his state of concentration as being "in his bubble," which helped him maintain peak performance. Following the Tokyo Olympics, Marchand trained under coach Bob Bowman in Arizona, who previously coached Michael Phelps. Marchand expressed gratitude towards his parents and noted his body's rapid recovery ability, a result of rigorous training and high-paced recovery swims. Despite the recent Olympic excitement, Marchand is now looking forward to taking a vacation.
