Welcome back. Luigi Mangione was in court for a hearing Thursday, one year to the day after the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Now the hearing centers on what will be admissible when the murder trial of Mangione, who has pleaded not guilty to Thompson's killing, begins. Katrina Coffman was in the courtroom where new evidence was shared about the arrest in that Pennsylvania McDonald's almost one year ago. Katrina, good morning, great to see you here. What new evidence were you able to see or hear during the hearings this week? Errol, we've been seeing and hearing a lot of evidence this week. A lot of body camera footage from the various police officers who were there. We've heard testimony from the two police officers who first came into that McDonald's and approached Luigi Mangione. But we're also seeing it from all of the different angles because they really want to show moment by moment what happened that day to determine ultimately what this judge is going to allow in. But they've now released this 911 call that we heard on Monday. It was made by the manager of the McDonald's. She said a number of customers had been suspicious. Let's take a listen. What is the address of your emergency? It's not really an emergency. I'm a manager at Plank Road McDonald's out here on the boulevard. Okay. And I have a customer here that some other customers were suspicious of that he looks like the CEO's shooter from New York. Okay. So they're just really upset and they're like coming to me and I was like, well, I can't approach them, you know? No, of course not. All right, honey, what's your name? Errol, we've also been seeing all of the items that Luigi Mangione had on him that day. A wallet, thousands of dollars in currency, mostly U.S., but also some foreign currency, a jar of peanut butter, a piece of string. He had a pocket knife on him. He was wearing three layers of clothing, Errol. So piece by piece, we've been seeing all of this laid out in court. And just in our last few seconds, what did we learn about his interactions with police in that fast food restaurant when this was all going down? One significant thing is that we do see on more than one occasion, him indicate that he doesn't want to talk to the police. But then they do engage in casual conversation with him. It takes about 20 minutes for them to read him his Miranda rights. And that's going to be important in terms of determining what statements will be allowed in. Errol, he also told them that he was homeless. He was from the DMV. And later, when he was giving his contact information, he gave his mother as his emergency contact. Fascinating, and you've been there all week watching this. We'll continue to watch it closely. Katrina, thanks so much.
