Rescue workers are attempting to extricate people out of the debris. This rescue official says 100 to 150 people might still be buried in the area. Those who have been rescued have been taken to nearby hospitals. This woman and her family were washed away downstream. I was stuck under a car. I had lost hope of surviving. I saw my father and then I got a little courage to come out of it. By the time I came out, I saw my mother was under an electricity pole. There were others also. I somehow managed to escape. My mother sustained more injuries. Thursday's incident comes a week after a flood and mudslide engulfed an entire village in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand.
