The FBI and Philly police are investigating after a former Brinks employee and two other men were arrested and accused of orchestrating a $2M robbery of an armored truck in the Philadelphia this June.

The FBI and Philadelphia police have announced the arrest of three men in connection with the armed robbery of a Brinks armored truck driver, during which over two million dollars was stolen. The incident occurred when two armed suspects confronted the driver at a Home Depot in Port Richmond, forcing him to the ground and taking his weapon and keys before fleeing with the cash. 

Authorities identified the suspects as Dashaun Hughes Murchison, Tavine Jackson, and Brian Wallace, with Jackson being a former Brinks employee and Wallace an Enterprise employee who allegedly rented a getaway vehicle. Most of the stolen money and several firearms have been recovered. Investigators are still determining whether this group is linked to other recent armored truck robberies in the area, and the case remains active.

Their employees should be able to walk alone with cash, you know, and not be concerned or worried about being approached by individuals like this. And this is the Fox 29 News at 5, I'm Jason Martinez. I'm Sheba Russell. Armored truck drivers have been on high alert this summer as there have been several other heists in the area. So Kelly, do investigators believe this trio is connected to any of those other heists? Well Sheba, it's certainly possible but tonight investigators say it's just too early to tell and they do say some of these recent incidents could be copycat crimes. They do say one of the three men arrested for this June case was a former Brinks employee. A North Philadelphia business owner provided Fox 29 this video of an early morning FBI raid on his block back on August 5th. Today the FBI and Philadelphia police announced that day they executed several search warrants and arrested three Philadelphia men. 30-year-old Dashaun Hughes Murchison, 31-year-old Tavine Jackson and 31-year-old Brian Wallace for the robbery of a Brinks armored truck driver back on June 21st. This is behavior which is just reckless. Their employees should be able to walk alone with cash you know and not be concerned or worried. Federal investigators say just before 8 a.m. that day the Brinks driver was walking down the back alley of the Home Depot in Port Richmond when two men with AR style rifles approached him. One forced him to the ground taking his gun and keys. The other stole more than two million dollars in cash from the truck. The FBI says they drove off in a Hyundai Sonata with a temporary tag with a third man following in a Ford Fusion. Federal court documents reveal the Hyundai Sonata was allegedly rented from Enterprise by one of the defendants, Brian Wallace, who was also an Enterprise employee and was scheduled to work June 21st but did not show up. Documents state Tavine Jackson was a former Brinks employee who was fired after an internal theft investigation. I certainly believe that you know the Brinks employee you had knowledge of the operations of the truck and that certainly enhanced their ability to effectuate the robbery. I mean you're talking about in a public setting during the day like this is this is out of the norm right. The arrest comes as the FBI and Philadelphia police investigate other armored truck robberies and an ATM delivery heist in Philadelphia over the past several weeks and it comes a day after Sheltonham Township police released this terrifying video of an armored truck robbery in the H Mart parking lot in Elkins Park. Is it possible this crew was working with them? Is it possible they're copycats? Yeah I would say that both are possible. We want to send that strong message to those out there you know that if you want to engage in this behavior this is what's going to happen. The FBI says through search warrants they did recover most of the two million dollars stolen as well as items purchased with that cash as well as long guns and handguns.
