Athletics staff and project leaders expressed excitement and anticipation as they prepared the stadium for thousands of visitors. While the majority of the renovations are complete, including upgraded seating and amenities, some sections, such as the east side, are still being finished, indicating ongoing development at the venue.

There's a lot to unpack. $450 million being unveiled to fans this weekend. I have no idea how I'm going to feel on Saturday other than some butterflies and a lot of excitement. For those involved in the project, it's time for the final touches. Kansas Director of Athletics Travis Goff is excited to watch fans' reactions. They've lived through a very different version of Kansas football and certainly a very different version of this particular venue. The new David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium pays homage to the history of KU, even in the little details. Every detail. I mean, if you walk around and you look at the light fixtures to the ceilings, everything talks about the true and proud tradition here at the University of Kansas. A legacy they're working hard to honor. Just getting it done at this point. Brent Borski is one of the minds behind what will be served in this stadium. He's excited about the challenge. We're trying to get everything open and get everything cleaned and ready to go, start production. Then we've got 40,000 people to feed, so it ought to be a good time. Thousands of people will get to see years of work coming to fruition. Not a bad seat in the house. But beyond the seats, they cannot wait to see what the people in the field have to say. I'm really excited to see our student-athletes to be able to come out and run and be a part of this and the excitement. It's a really tangible indication of how far the program's come.
