A significant cold front is expected to move southward, causing a sharp drop in temperatures beginning Friday morning. Cities such as Charleston are forecast to experience a 20-degree temperature decrease by Saturday, with the cold air persisting through the weekend.

Meteorologists indicate that the sustained cold will result in any precipitation sticking to surfaces, as temperatures remain low from Friday through Sunday. By Monday, parts of the South could see temperatures in the single digits, as indicated by weather maps showing extensive cold coverage.
