At Empower Field at Mile High, the stage is set for Denver's first women's professional soccer team to make history. Today, we are proud to announce that Denver Summit FC will play its inaugural home match of the 2026 NWSL season right here at Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday, March 28th. It's just great to have the inaugural match for Denver Summit FC here at Empower Field at Mile High. A truly special moment, not just for the organization, but for us as well. Summit FC President Jen Millais says the venue is about more than capacity. It's about legacy. When we set about planning for this match, we really wanted a venue that could accommodate two main criterias. It needed to have, I would say, championship football DNA. It needed to be large enough to match the tremendous groundswell of support we've received from the Denver fan community. That support is undeniable. Since announcing the team earlier this year, Summit FC has shattered National Women's Soccer League records for expansion teams, selling 15,000 season ticket deposits before they've played a single match. Having this team here is just, it's such an inspiration. This summer, Summit FC hosted a block party in Denver. Fans were ecstatic to add professional women's soccer to this growing sports city. We finally get to have a team for the girls. The NWSL has just been phenomenal to watch.
