A cold front is advancing eastward across parts of Pennsylvania and the northeastern United States, producing thunderstorms, strong winds, and snowfall at higher elevations. Temperatures are dropping rapidly behind the front, with wind gusts exceeding 40 MPH in some areas and reaching up to 60 MPH overnight in certain regions.

The weather system is expected to cause more widespread power outages, particularly in central New York, western Massachusetts, and areas downwind of Lake Erie. Another front is forecast to arrive from the north and west, with the most significant cold spell anticipated after the following Sunday, offering an early preview of winter conditions.

areas around south of Punxsutawney and other areas here into Indiana County of Pennsylvania, northeastern Indiana County, southwestern Clearfield County, a little bit of northern and northwestern Cambria County, seeing some of that and then up into northern Westmoreland County. Some lightning strikes there as well to the east of Pittsburgh. So areas of northeast of the P. A. Turnpike there near Delmont. We're finding some thunder rumbling and some lightning strikes here and there. We do have the storm reports turned on. We haven't seen a huge number of of damaging tree reports or power lines coming down yet, but the numbers may increase soon and we're gonna be dealing with some more issues here. You can see that we are facing some snow if being maybe a little broader than I should with the outlines here. But if the highest of elevations, there is some snow falling, but we're gonna see more of those areas kind of filled in with snow as opposed to rain as temperatures drop later on tonight. And again, the front continues to make more progress eastward, and that's where we're gonna see some of that colder air follow with the winds shifting. Winds are very active with this whole set up here to southwest wind in advance of the front northwest wind behind the front, and we're seeing gusts over 30 MPH over 40 MPH for some, and the temperatures are gonna be nose diving. We're at 41 in Burlington. We dropped a little bit there, 41 up into Bangor, Maine. Other areas to the south, still 68 down in Charleston, West Virginia on 68 in Harrisburg as well. So it's very warm southeast of the front, but the winds are active gusts back up to 36 MPH in Buffalo for now. Overnight tonight, wind and rain moving east through the region, generally drier south of the P. A. Turnpike, and we'll be dealing with gusts of wind 50 to 60 MPH in the deeper shade of lavender, 40 to 50 MPH in the lighter shade there. Eso areas like central New York State into western Massachusetts, the Catskills, the Berkshires, eastern Long Island as well. More numerous power outages there down into the Alleghenies and other areas downwind of Lake Erie. We'll see some of those power outages become a bit more problematic. Now, as we take you farther north and west, you could see the next front moving in. This one moves in on Friday. So, Anna, the series of fronts is gonna have a lasting impact, especially not necessarily this front, but after this one, it's the Sunday one where we really chill down. This front starts to pave the way for a preview at December. We barely started November, but you get a hint of what's winter going to be like.
