ICE agents in St. Paul, Minnesota, detained Chong Lee Scott Tao, a U.S. citizen, at gunpoint and removed him from his home in his underwear in below-freezing temperatures. According to Tao, agents broke down his door and did not present a warrant before detaining him. 

After realizing Tao was a U.S. citizen with no criminal record, agents returned him to his home. Homeland Security stated the operation was targeting two convicted sex offenders but did not clarify why Tao's residence was involved.

According to the Associated Press, the man, Chong Lee Scott Tao, is a U.S. citizen. Lee says the agents broke down his door and detained him without showing a warrant. Tao says agents later brought him back to his home after realizing he was a U.S. citizen with no criminal record. Homeland Security described the ICE operation at Tao's home as a targeted operation seeking two convicted sex offenders, but they did not say why they thought the sex offenders were inside his home.
