Two days before the mass shooting CCTV cameras caught them in Sydney surveying the scene. Then on the day of the attack they were seen leaving a rented guest house with what police allege are wrapped guns. They arrive at Bondi later in a car decorated with Islamic State flags. On a pedestrian bridge the two took positions overlooking the crowd gathered at a Hanukkah celebration in a park nearby. Police say the gunman first lobbed four homemade bombs which failed to explode. Then they opened fire. The father ended up killed by police. The son was arrested after being shot.
