To honour the victims, to pronounce ourselves as committed to the unity of this country going forward and to say that we will stand strong against terror and against hate. And I personally feel very strongly about the fact that, especially being German, that this has happened in history before and that this cannot happen again. The sentiment at the memorial was one of unity but also anguish. With all the pain and grief carried by those most affected, the community comes here tonight to complete what could not be completed last week, the lighting of the Hanukkah menorah.
