rush is continuing for the Aussies here in Paris. The canoe sprint competition wrapped up a short time ago with Tom Green and Jean van der Westhuizen clinching bronze in the men's K2 500m final. They produced an Olympic best time in the semis but unfortunately couldn't replicate that in the final. Earlier on in the women's event Ella Beer and Ali Bull missed out on a medal. They finished in sixth position with the New Zealand team storming home to victory turning their 2023 world championship into an Olympic gold medal. From boats to boxing the Aussies have stepped out of the ring after producing our best Olympic performance in the event in 64 years. Caitlin Parker and Charlie Senior lost their semi-final bouts but are still bringing home bronze medals, an incredible achievement considering Australia hasn't won two Olympic medals in the same games for boxing since 1960. But I know I put it all out there I went to war last night and yeah literally left everything in the ring. I feel great um it's bittersweet obviously it's um you come for the gold medal but you give it your all you do your best and to walk away with a bronze medal at my first Olympics it's it's a great feeling. Now it's a busy day of competition to come for the Aussies with basketball, weightlifting and more athletics action. Breaking will also make its debut as an Olympic sport with Aussie Rachel Gunn better known as Ray Gunn busting a move hoping to make it onto the podium. Ursula.
