The artifact was found in a 2,100-year-old tomb, which also contained various figures and objects. This discovery is considered significant, as it is believed to be the first time a Pataikos figurine has been found in Anatolia.

The tomb, built in the Hellenistic style, is part of a larger excavation that has revealed several remarkable burial sites. Excavations are ongoing in the area, particularly around the sacred Necropolis Road and the Garden of Paradise mosaic.

An exciting discovery. Archaeologists working at Pera Ancient City, one of the five main cities of the ancient kingdom of Qomajin in southeastern Turkey, have stumbled on a study of the ancient Egyptian god Pataikos, a rare find believed to be the first of its kind in Anatolia. It was dug from a 2,100-year-old tomb containing various figures and artifacts. We have now uncovered about 840 meters of the stairway to eternity, with nearly 200 meters excavated this year alone. As a result, highly remarkable tombs have come to light on both the eastern and western sides. The chamber we're currently walking in is a hypodium tomb containing 14 burials built in Hellenistic style. For the first time in Pera Ancient City, we encountered such a structure. Most importantly, we discovered the figurine of the god Pataikos, never before found in Anatolian excavations. Excavations are continuing around the sacred Necropolis Road and the Garden of Paradise mosaic.
