Since taking over in 1988, Wintour transformed the magazine into a modern, trend-setting publication and played a key role in introducing new models and designers to the world.

Wintour is also known for overseeing the annual Met Gala and is widely believed to have inspired the character Miranda Priestly in the film 'The Devil Wears Prada.' Despite stepping down from her editorial position, she will remain chief content officer for Condé Nast and Vogue's global editorial director.
