Pharmaceutical company AbbVie has entered into a three-year agreement with the White House to reduce drug prices in exchange for an exemption from tariffs. As part of the deal, AbbVie has also pledged to invest $100 billion in research and development within the United States over the next decade.

This move follows similar agreements made in December with other major pharmaceutical firms, including Merck, Roche, and Gilead, as part of the Trump administration's ongoing efforts to make medications more affordable. The agreement is one component of a larger initiative to address the issue of drug pricing in the U.S.

It reached several deals in December, if you remember, with companies like Merck and Roche and Gilead. So this is just the—I don't know if it's the last piece, but it's just a piece of a larger story and gets around the very issue that we were describing, affordability.
