Since I came here, my baby and I have been okay. We eat well, wear uniforms, and during breaks, I go see my child. Even when I'm sad, seeing my baby makes me happy. At just 16, Edel Wamaluwa believed that motherhood meant the end of her education. But with her father's support, she stepped into the new world. The Greenland Girl School, where teen mothers continue their education. Here, babies have their own safe spaces and nannies. Students like Wamaluwa can step out of the classroom to breastfeed and bond with their babies. Sara Wairimo is also a beneficiary. I felt hopeless, but here, I saw stories worse than mine. I accepted myself. People tell me I look too young to have a child. I say, I'm back in school. The community accepts me now. Greenland was founded by Samuel Mukilia as a place of hope, renewal, and second chances. Our motto is, come with your baby. They need to have the baby because of two reasons. One, bonding with the baby. Two, some girls, they were struggling to stop the milk. I saw the milk is very nutritious, especially the first milk, to the fighting germs of the baby, especially when they take the antibodies. The Greenland Girl School is lighting the way in education in the country where 18-20% of girls aged 15-19 become pregnant.
