The victim, who lived nearby, was transported to a hospital with head injuries but could not be saved. 

Police are actively searching for the moped rider involved in the hit-and-run. The community has expressed shock and concern over the incident, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

He was taken to the hospital with head injuries, but doctors couldn't save him. Neighbors we spoke with can't believe it. Imagine nine years old.
