A memo released by the U.S. Justice Department and FBI has concluded that there is no evidence of an 'incriminating client list' associated with Jeffrey Epstein. The investigation, ordered by President Trump, also reaffirmed that Epstein died by suicide while in custody, addressing ongoing conspiracy theories suggesting otherwise.

The memo and accompanying video evidence, published on the Department of Justice's website, indicate that no one entered the area near Epstein's cell during the hours surrounding his death. The agencies also stated that there was no evidence Epstein blackmailed powerful individuals. Despite continued speculation and social media commentary, the Justice Department and FBI have not provided further comment beyond the released memo.

Jeffrey Epstein's death while in custody in a Manhattan courtroom has been a source of conspiracy theories. The main talking points? He did not commit suicide as reported. That he may have been killed in order to keep a so-called client list hidden. But now, after a review ordered by President Trump, the Justice Department and the FBI are putting those theories to bed. Scripps News national correspondent Liz Landers joins me now. Liz, tell us more about a memo that you got your hands on. Andrew, the Trump administration is releasing new information in a memo that came out today and video about their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein saying that the accused sexual abuser committed suicide in 2019. There has been rampant speculation that Epstein may have been murdered while he awaited trial. The joint memo which was issued by the FBI and the Department of Justice and posted on their website also says that Epstein did not blackmail powerful figures and that there was quote no incriminating client list of people associated with him. In addition to the memo, there is this new video that's on our screen right now that was posted on the Department of Justice's website and it stated from August 9th overnight into August 10th. That was the night that that Epstein died. Now the video purports to show that no one entered the area where Epstein's cell was located from 10 40 p.m. until 6 30 a.m. the next morning. When I reached out for comment, the FBI referred me earlier today to the Department of Justice saying that they had nothing further to add about this memo. And these new details that were revealed, I would add during a holiday weekend when it was reported late last night by a few news outlets, this has upended years of speculation and conspiracy theories that have circulated about Epstein's actions and his acquaintances. So prior to becoming the FBI director, even Kash Patel pushed for the release of what he called an Epstein list saying that America deserved to know the truth about what was going on with Jeffrey Epstein. Attorney General Pam Bondi also spoke with Fox News in February about the so-called Epstein client list. Listen to what she told hosts at that time. It's sitting on my desk right now to review. That's been a directive by President Trump. I'm reviewing that. I'm reviewing JFK files, MLK files. That's all in the process of being reviewed because that was done at the directive of the president from all of these agencies. The Department of Justice did not answer additional questions that I asked about the attorney general's previous comments there and what she meant when she said that she had this list on her desk and now these comments that there was no incriminating list. On February 25th, the administration also released a cache of these Epstein related files to conservative social media influencers who visited the White House and emerged from the West Wing at the time carrying binders that read the Epstein files phase one. One of the influencers posted at the time that the binder had what she said were no bombshells and the pressure is continuing to mount, Andrew, on social media from MAGA and the president's supporters after the latest revelations in this memo with some of the president's devotees accusing the agency leaders of covering up information and calling even for the attorney general to resign. I would also just add that Elon Musk, who has made some unfounded allegations and comments about the president and Epstein recently on his social media site, he also posted a picture today of a quote official Jeffrey Epstein pedophile arrest counter and it showed the number zero.
