While local councils support the focus on housing growth around the metro precinct, there are calls for linked infrastructure such as hospital and school upgrades. The opposition has expressed concerns about the adequacy of supporting services, highlighting the need for comprehensive planning as the project progresses over the coming years.

They just expect governments to get on with getting over the top of those boundaries and deliver well-planned communities. The uplift in density in this area could be dramatic. Here is the future metro stop behind me. Next door is currently a two-level unit block. Next door to that is a single-level duplex. In the future, this could be a 38-storey apartment tower. This is not an overnight plan. This is one that will be worked on for years to come. The opposition believes that plan is lacking. We support greater density around this location, but where is the upgrade to Concord Hospital? Where are the new schools?
