Ten underage illegal migrants were found working at a cannabis farm in California during a federal raid. According to the Department of Homeland Security, eight of the juveniles were unaccompanied, and the facility is now under investigation for potential child labor violations. 

The incident has drawn attention to the issue of underage migrant labor in the United States, with authorities considering the possibility of child trafficking. The case is part of a broader pattern, as reports have previously highlighted minors working in hazardous conditions across various industries.

Joining me now is the executive director for the Center for Immigration Studies, Mark Krikorian. Mark, what's the impact of a visit like this from President Trump? And how important is the White House's commitment to help those affected Texas communities? Well, I mean, obviously it's important when the president comes, it's always a problem that he has all kinds of security and that can overwhelm local communities, whether he's going to the border, whether he's going to a flood zone, whether he's going to a hurricane zone. And so that's often why the presidents don't show up immediately. They always come a few days later because otherwise they're gonna actually do more harm than good. Yeah, it creates a lot of logistical challenges on the ground for sure. In my monologue, I talked about attacks from the left on the Trump administration and the National Weather Service for not doing enough, allegedly, ahead of the storms. Do you agree that criticism is unfair and inaccurate? Well, I mean, I actually don't know much about the National Weather Service, but the left has been attacking everything the Trump administration does. You know, there was news about these ice raids where the protesters, so-called, were trying to stop ice from even rescuing miners working at a marijuana farm. So it doesn't matter what Trump does. If Trump made floods disappear, they would criticize him for making floods disappear. It doesn't matter what the president does. It's a kind of reflexive Trump derangement. Yeah, and we've been witnessing that for nearly a decade now. President Trump did tour the area and we think he made an impact and we hope that he did. And I would just add to that, that for a president to see firsthand just how bad things are might actually grease his skids to getting even more done. But I do wanna go back to what you mentioned a minute or so ago on the West Coast, that chaotic scene yesterday in Camarillo during an ice raid at a cannabis farm. Authorities had to use smoke to disperse an angry crowd there. One of them appeared to fire a gun at officers and the US attorney posted on X, the FBI has issued a $50,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of an unknown subject who appeared to fire a pistol at federal law enforcement officers near that town. Clearly federal agents are facing more danger than ever. How much blame should be placed on liberal politicians who keep slamming the work of ICE and CBP and what can be done to prevent these riots from turning into a tragedy before it's too late? Well, it's one thing if politicians say this is a bad idea, we shouldn't do it. They're not doing that, they've gone beyond that. And they're actually inciting violence and attacks on federal officers at this point. And somebody is gonna get killed at some point. And it's probably not gonna be a federal officer. The scene that we see here has happened in a number of other places. And in fact, in Texas, there was an ambush of ICE officers by something like 10 or 12 Antifa guys with body armor and the whole thing. This is not gonna end well. And the Democrat leadership has a responsibility to say, stop doing this, we need to fight this if we wanna fight it through normal legal means, not through these kind of, not through violent means. And Mark, for me, the critical point of those raids is that DHS says 10 juveniles were found and all were illegal immigrants and eight of them were unaccompanied. The facility is now under investigation for child labor violations. So why on earth were kids working on a weed farm? And secondly, is child trafficking a possibility here? And how can Democrats defend child trafficking or child labor violations? Oh, it's definitely possible there was trafficking here. And even if there wasn't, in other words, even if they weren't like kidnapped and forced to work, they're minors working, you know, working on a cannabis farm. And this isn't a one-off case. Even the New York Times did a big series of stories last year, I believe, about unaccompanied illegal alien minors working in factories of various kinds. They were working graveyard shifts, doing cleaning. They were working around sharp equipment. And I'm talking about 13, 14 year olds. I don't mean somebody who's 17 and a half. So this is not new. The Biden administration knew about it and they don't care because they wanted to make sure that as many illegal immigrants could get into the country as possible. Yeah, and they lost track of at least 300,000 minors during his term. Mark McCormick, we gotta leave it there. Thanks so much for joining the show. Thank you.
