Gunmen opened fire at a bus stop in Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least six people, including a 79-year-old rabbi. The attackers were shot dead by a soldier and armed civilians at the scene. While Hamas did not claim responsibility, it praised the attack as a 'heroic operation.'

Following the incident, Israeli forces surrounded villages in the West Bank, believed to be the origin of the attackers, and began a new military offensive in Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that such attacks would not deter Israel's objectives. The ongoing conflict has left many Gazan families homeless, with further escalation expected unless Hamas releases Israeli hostages and surrenders.
