A French court has rejected the appeal of Osama Tin Dogen, a former construction worker convicted of the aggravated rape of Gisele Pelicot, and increased his sentence to 10 years. Dogen was the only one among 51 men convicted in the high-profile mass rape trial to challenge his guilty verdict. 

The case involved Pelicot's husband drugging her over nearly a decade and recruiting dozens of men online to assault her while she was unconscious. All 50 co-defendants were found guilty of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault. Pelicot became a prominent feminist figure after waiving her anonymity and testifying in court. Dogen's lawyer stated that he believed he was participating in consensual activity, but the court upheld his conviction, and his lawyer said he accepted the result.
