Royal Caribbean responded by isolating sick individuals and increasing cleaning and disinfection procedures. Infectious disease experts recommend avoiding buffets and practicing careful hand hygiene, as there is no antiviral treatment for norovirus. This incident marks the 19th gastrointestinal illness outbreak on a cruise ship this year, already surpassing last year's total.
