During his address, Pope Leo expressed gratitude to God, his parents, and those who prayed for him. 

Pope Leo, who was elected the previous May and is noted as the youngest Pope since John Paul II, received support and affection from attendees. Later, he led an ecumenical prayer service in honor of 21st-century martyrs.
