Apple did not comment on the lawsuit, while OpenAI described the case as consistent with what it called Musk's ongoing pattern of harassment. Legal experts noted that Apple's dominant position in the smartphone market could support xAI's claims, but also pointed out that Grok has achieved high rankings in the App Store, indicating ongoing competition. Musk, who co-founded OpenAI before launching xAI, is also pursuing separate legal action regarding OpenAI's transition to a for-profit entity.
