Vice President JD Vance encountered a group of pro-Ukraine protesters while visiting Cincinnati, Ohio with his three-year-old daughter. The meeting happened when the group was on their way to a nearby pro-Ukraine rally. A cell phone video documented the interaction, capturing Vance asking the protesters to not disturb his daughter. At least one protester could be heard asserting that facing such situations is part of Vance's job. 

During the encounter, Vance spent several minutes speaking with the demonstrators, discussing various topics, including his past and current views on former President Donald Trump. Afterwards, he shared his perspective of the event on the social media platform X, describing the conversation as mostly respectful yet objecting to targeting a child during protests. A protester later shared with CNN that they felt Vance's portrayal of the event was inaccurate and insisted that their statements were based on facts.

Vance appeared to plead with the protesters to not disturb his three-year-old daughter, to which at least one protester could be heard saying, that was part of his job. Ma'am, look at my three-year-old daughter now. And I told you, I talked to you for five minutes. Will you sign up for his job if that's what you agree? I did not agree to have my three-year-old to have people run around and yell at her. And I did talk to you, and I have said, if I talk to you for a few minutes, will you leave my three-year-old daughter alone? And you said yes. So I'd like you guys to sign up. Afterwards, J.D. Vance took to X saying, it was mostly a respectful conversation. But if you're chasing a three-year-old as part of a political protest, you're a shit person. Right here along Saddle. Exactly.
