The United States warned Iran that, quote, all options are on the table, as representatives of both countries faced off at an emergency UN Security Council session on protests in Iran. U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Mike Waltz stressed that President Donald Trump is ready to militarily intervene in Tehran if authorities continue to exact lethal force on protesters. President Trump is a man of action, not endless talk like we see at the United Nations. He has made it clear all options are on the table to stop the slaughter and no one should know that better than the leadership of the Iranian regime. Tehran in turn slammed the U.S. for what they call direct involvement in steering unrest of violence. They have now seek to pursue the same goals through political destabilization, internal unrest and chaos. This strategy relies on manufacturing casualties, spreading false and inflated figures and creating a pretext for foreign intervention. It is a familiar script, one that has been used repeatedly from Iraq to Libya and to Venezuela. Videos of demonstrations have stopped coming out of Iran, likely signaling a slowdown in the pace of protests. Eyewitnesses say that in recent mornings there were no new signs of bonfires lit the night before or debris in the streets, adding that the sound of intense gunfire has also faded. Terrorist groups estimate that at least 2,600 people were killed in clashes with security forces but warn that the real number could be far higher due to difficulties in verifying casualties.
