Türk called for coordinated efforts from both Sudanese entities and the international community to address the humanitarian crisis. The ongoing conflict, which began after a power struggle between military leaders, has led to widespread accusations of atrocities by both the RSF and Sudanese military.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Tark continued his visit to war-ravaged Sudan on Thursday as he met with civil society representatives and NGOs in the capital of the northern state, Dongol. Tark is now calling for more humanitarian assistance in the region as the war has left many families displaced, while at the same time creating humanitarian crises, especially for the vulnerable families. We don't have enough settlements for those who got internally displaced, some of them many times. There is no proper solution for the women who have suffered sexual violence because the space is not there. There is not enough attention paid to people with disabilities. But these representatives have also found the solution. There needs to be an all-out effort, both within Sudan and by the international community, to help them to facilitate their work so that they can provide the much-needed humanitarian assistance that is required under the circumstance. The war in Sudan began after the head of the army, General Abdel Fattah al-Baran, fell out with his deputy and RSF leader, General Mohammed Hamdan Daghal, leading to a vicious struggle for power. Both the RSF and Sudanese military have been accused of committing atrocities throughout the conflict.
