A 22-year-old man, Manyan Manyan, and a 16-year-old boy have been charged following an alleged gang-related shooting at a Bosley Park home in New South Wales. Authorities claim the pair used an AK-47 for target practice and attempted to evade police, with the younger accused allegedly trying to disguise himself after the incident.

Both suspects were denied bail after a court heard details of the alleged planning involved in the crime. The 16-year-old's lawyer suggested coercion and exploitation as possible defences, and both accused are scheduled to appear before a magistrate next year.

Wrapped around an AK-47, allegedly the hands of 22-year-old Manyan Manyan, his alleged accomplice and driver, a 16-year-old boy, accused of crashing the getaway car, when a court today heard he was picked up in another and dropped off to his Leppington home. That's where the prosecution claims the boy tried to disguise himself with a new haircut and change of clothes. At the same time, tactical officers made their move on Manyan. With the mics, saying that everyone comes out of the house. But only his Villawood housemates were home. We had to sit out of the house for four or five hours, waiting for that guy to come and get arrested. Just after 6pm, a white SUV was pulled over and searched. The 16-year-old arrested in Denham Court. His parents this afternoon learning of the details that came to light. How does it make you feel knowing that your son allegedly participates in organised crime? His lawyer floating coercion and exploitation as a possible defence. It's a consideration on the matter. The court heard there was a concerning level of planning that went into this alleged crime. The co-accused both denied bail on the basis the risk to the public was far too great.
