Residents are adopting various methods to cope with the heat, including swimming in the Bosporus and seeking shade in public areas. Despite the challenging conditions, many people continue to work, particularly in the city's historic districts.

Meteorologists have indicated that the elevated temperatures are expected to last for another week. A recent rapid study has linked human-caused climate change to approximately 1,500 deaths during a recent European heatwave, with the majority of fatalities among those aged 75 or older.

Meteorologists said temperatures were 4 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal nationwide and that the heatwave will continue for another week. Human-caused climate change is responsible for killing about 1,500 people in last week's European heatwave, a first-of-its-kind rapid study found. Of the 1,500 deaths attributed to climate change, the study found more than 1,100 were people 75 or older.

The Trump administration branded the event as one of the steps it is taking to reshape its relationship with the African continent.
