Now more than 600 days later 50 Israelis kidnapped then are still held by Hamas. 20 of them are believed to be alive. One of those is Eviatar David. Last seen in February when Hamas made him and fellow captive Guy Dalal watch as other hostages were released. Now his brother Eli says the family prays Eviatar will be next but is afraid to hope. So are you bracing yourself already for a crushing blow? Yeah, all the time, all the time. So we kind of learned how to protect ourselves, our souls. And it's not only us, it's our nation which is torn apart. The ceasefire deal that's being hammered out right now will last 60 days during which Hamas will hand back about half of the remaining Israeli hostages and the Israeli military will halt its offensive in Gaza. Steve Witkoff, the president's envoy, says he thinks there will be a deal by the end of the week.

The Trump administration branded the event as one of the steps it is taking to reshape its relationship with the African continent.
