Donald Trump has arrived in Tokyo as part of his ongoing Asian tour. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with the Japanese emperor and newly-appointed Prime Minister Sana'i Takeichi, who is known for supporting Abenomics and a strong national security stance.

The agenda for the meetings is expected to focus on regional security, particularly in light of China's assertiveness and North Korea's actions, as well as ongoing economic cooperation, including a previously negotiated $550 billion Japanese investment in the United States. Trump is also expected to continue his tour with stops in South Korea and discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

We did see Donald Trump deplane. He has officially arrived in Tokyo, due for, I believe, the second stop on his Asian tour. He'll be going to South Korea later this week to have that high-stakes conversation with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping. Already, of course, a very quick turnaround when it comes to the conversation in Malaysia. Yes, sir, he is arriving in Tokyo. He is due to meet with the Japanese emperor today, and then he goes on to have a working lunch and meet with Takeichi. That's the newly-minted prime minister who is a fan of Abenomics, of loose monetary and loose fiscal policy, and someone Trump has spoken very fondly of. So I guess a big moment for the new Japanese prime minister in order to strike up positive foreign relations with their US counterparts. Yeah, it's a really fascinating one as well, because we also know that the Japanese have come through a new administration change. Sana'i Takeishi is, of course, now at the helm of the government. And one of the key things that was negotiated underneath her predecessor is a $550 billion investment promise into the United States. What that actually looks like is a completely different story. And does it actually stick when you do start to see her administration come forward? Remember, they're still dealing with inflationary issues, fiscal promises, some that even come contrarian to what the BOJ might be pushing for. And Takeichi is very hawkish when it comes to national security. So I think that will be on the table for discussions today, whether the US-Japanese alliance is still strong, at least in a military guise. So key topics on the agenda today could be ones of regional security, should I say, particularly among China's assertiveness and North Korea's provocations. So we'll keep an eye on how geopolitics, as well as the trade negotiations, take place between the US and Japan today. Yes, fascinating one. He did, of course, also say that he was looking forward, if he can, to meet Kim Jong-un. No schedule on the agenda, no meeting on the agenda, I should say. But it is something, I believe, a press gaggle a couple of days ago he said he would be interested in. We are, of course, seeing him get on the helipad there to get to his next stop.
