This latest incident happened yesterday, just after 11 AM near the Ackard Street station in downtown Dallas. One passenger was hurt and taken to the hospital, but Dart tells us the victim's condition is unknown. Also unknown what led up to the shooting, but tonight writers say the system that's supposed to get them home safely now has them looking over their shoulders. Fox 4's Vanya Castillo is here now with the very latest. Hi Vanya. Hi Casey, yeah, Dart police are investigating the third shooting in just a little over a month, and people who we spoke with who rely on Dart for transportation say this recent violence has left them anxious. To you were about your surroundings. I rarely sit my back towards anyone just because you just don't know what's in the person's mind. On Friday morning, Dart police responded to a shooting in broad daylight on board a train near the Ackard station and people we spoke with are sharing their anxieties. I felt like they should kind of get together and figure out like obey. Kind of go through their policies again and Dart tells us the one person was taken to the hospital. This marks the third dart shooting in five weeks. On September 29th, Daniel Garnley was killed while out celebrating his birthday. The Irving bartender was shot following an argument at the Marketplace station of Harry Hines. On October 5th, a man police say was wearing a Jason styled hockey mask, fired nine shots inside a dart station and killed a 43 year old man at the Pearl station in the Dallas Arts District arrests were made in connection to both shootings. I don't ride at night. I only use it in the daytime. One of the women we spoke to tells us she had her own close encounter on dart less than two weeks ago. There was a kid who brought a gun out and it was. It was a little scary, you know, cause it was just in the middle of the day and he just took out his backpack and he pointed at somebody. She says the person holding a gun in this instance was arrested. I was scared. I like move to the side like I'd want to be around it, but it is. The dart is very scary. I'm not gonna lie. I write it every day and it is. I pay attention to my surroundings. All of the people we spoke with are asking for more officers on trains. I think that they need to show up more around these areas to help protect people that are just trying to make it from work or go to an event down here. It's a lot of people travel from the outer cities to come down here, so I just feel like they need to protect better and warning other riders to be careful. Just be aware of your surroundings. Don't pay too much attention to your phone. Just kind of be on the keep your head on the swivel. Keep your bags close to you and just just mind your surroundings. Now we have reached out to dark police to try and get an update on any arrests made in relation to this leading latest shooting, but have not heard back from dark police back to you.
